Real Value

Many persons who attempt to communicate with the public do so in order to establish whether something has any real value or importance in people's lives.

A considerable number of Australians, for example, seek to hear from...

...the Reserve Bank of Australia from time to time, even if they cannot make head or tail of what those bankers are on about, at least without the assistance of an interpreter who speaks a jargon-free language.

Most sensible persons seek relevant facts and advice in order to assess and ascertain their household and governmental budgets, as well as concerns of real value.  Do you seek out communicators who talk to you and with you, rather than at you?

As you may be aware, my duties include being a free-range social commentator, policy analyst, and cultural critic.  Interconnection between fields of knowledge interests me tremendously.  Do you enjoy identifying clear and tangential connections as much as I do?

Interconnections are the source of understanding and enlightenment.  Isolated facts are of superficial interest to me, as the real value is in seeing how information fits into the bigger picture of our experiences.

Yesterday, many members of the Mozarty Party were out and about, labouring over their responsibilities.  They visited many shopping centres around Australia, discussing their political and musical movements with all and sundry.  They frequently ensure our policy ideas and points of view are liberally scattered around for all to examine, contribute to and comment upon, without the need for leaks.

Many of our members have had much more experience of labouring than many other politically active persons.  They are frequently to be found labouring over hot keyboards and other instruments of employment, or digging into musical and other archives, or serving the imaginative needs of various communities.

I have been discussing various interconnections today with a former royal mistress.  Dorothea Jordan has had a great deal of experience of labour movements and working families, being the hardworking celebrity mother of a very large number of children.

As I am not a mother myself, and have never had any desire to be in that position, I am of the opinion that the only Australian prime minister with any proper experience of labour has been a former collier by the name of Joseph Cook.  I have discussed this matter with him myself on many occasions.  We are both of the opinion that hard work may often be the less sensible option when good thinking is lacking.

Dorothea, however, believes politics is often a comedy and sometimes a tragedy, no matter how hard working various politicians consider themselves to be.  There is more to life than work, and work without a full appreciation of the good things in life, and the opportunity to experience them, is empty and rather unpleasant for many people.  Work without thought has very little real value indeed.

What are you seeking from your own political and economic representatives, and your own paid and unpaid work, dear reader? How well do you know the persons who frequently seek your votes?  Are those persons giving you real value?

What are the most important topics of interest and relevance to you in your life, and why? Have you sought elected office yourself from time to time?

The Mozarty Party has many millions of ethereal members all around the world and a large number of digital subscribers.

As yet, the party has no official material members at all, mainly because we provide real value and have yet to decide on a price for that value.  Hence, our party has no material membership fees at present.

Joseph Cook is currently an ethereal member of the Mozarty Party, as is Dorothea Jordan.

The Australian Labor Party currently believes it has around 35,000 Australian material members.

The Liberal Party of Australia currently believes it has around 80,000 Australian material members.

The Australian Greens current believe they have around 10,000 Australian material members.

I have been unable to ascertain the quantity of Australian material members of any other political parties of current relevance.  Perhaps you can advise me on this matter.

One day, the Mozarty Party hopes to become as popularly electable as Kevin Rudd, even without the assistance of twitter.  Mr Mozart has tried to use social media himself, but there are so many fake celebrities and politicians out there that he sometimes wonders whether he himself has any real value at all in the eyes, ears and minds of the public.

Well-travelled and valuable

There are many other important features of society besides work and politics, of course, even though some politicians believe that working is the only worthwhile thing for a member of the public to do.

In my own opinion, the activities that will lead to lasting peace in the world are probably those supportive of philanthropy and social enterprise, rather than generically described paid employment. This will be even more the case if and when governments, and individual politicians, lead by example.

My blog-pamphleteering efforts are often for philanthropic purposes.  As an ethereal, enlightened being, I give my time freely to produce and publish these literary postings for you. I hope you may also believe I have contributed something valuable towards your own knowledge and understanding.  Do let me know if that is the case.

What is the true purpose and real value of your time in front of a computational machine?  Are you preparing for a journey of discovery?

...and doing so much better at the task than most politicians

...and perhaps even an ex-foreign minister?

...or have a chat with an ex-foreign minister about it at your local supermarket?

There are many people who want to travel to Australia, and many others who wish to stay here for longer than a holiday. Are you one of them?  Have you chosen a path to follow that you hope will lead you here, without getting your feet wet?  What is it about Australia that appeals to you?

Australian immigration and citizenship

Why do many Australians like to travel overseas? Are they attempting to escape from something or do most Australians travel for other purposes?

There are many opportunities to work in other countries, especially for enlightened persons with the knowledge and skills that are in high demand worldwide. Are you qualified?

Do you believe the best feature of any society is genuine friendliness?  I define friendliness as the free giving of something of personal value towards another person's benefit, especially when that other person is a stranger. You may say that to give in such circumstances is altruistic, but this is not the case if there is no sense of personal loss.

There is so much we can give without losing, or working too hard, especially if we have surpluses that others may find useful.  Are you a member of a lobby group?

In my view, a lobby group is any non-government organisation or informal collective which has a propensity to obtain, or attempts to obtain, tax funds for any of its activities.  A lobby group may also be one in which membership fees and various donations are used in order to influence government, or opposition, policy.  All political parties are lobby groups, including the Mozarty Party.

Here are just a few examples of Australian lobby groups:

Australian Council of Trade Unions

Women's Electoral Lobby

Electronic Frontiers Australia

Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry

Gay and Lesbian Rights Lobby

Australian Industry Group

How many lobby groups can you name in your own region of the world?  Do you support or oppose their activities?  Is it more hard work to be a supporter or an opponent?  Are you a hard working musician?  Have you ever written, played or sung a protest song?

Whoever you may be, if you are a material being, it is quite likely that your life is shaped by eating and sleeping as well as working. What you eat and where you sleep are likely to be very important to you.  The interconnections between what you eat and where your food comes from may often be ignored in your consciousness, until the meals you have enjoyed in the past become more and more expensive to prepare.

The interconnections between where you sleep now and the security of your future shelter may rarely enter your conscious thoughts, until the place where you have been sleeping becomes no longer available.  Where do you prefer to spend your unconscious hours?  Is that place of any real value to you?

Economic problems are mainly caused by a lack of thought about interconnections between ourselves and people in distant places, and in the past and future. We often lack awareness of the consequences of our habits, not only for ourselves but for others, across the earth and across time, even if we have no interest at all in meetings of the G20 or the Reserve Bank of Australia.

The Mozarty Party attempts to raise awareness, all around the world, of the real value of time and place in people's lives.  Can any other political party or lobby group say the same?
