My very dear friend, Baron de Montesquieu, has again been assisting with the spring cleaning here in my little Adelaidean villa. He is a wonderful conversationalist but not particularly inspiring as a singer. He is an excellent...
...cleaner of houses of both the domestic and parliamentary varieties, and he has a similar opinion to myself on such subjects as flower pots, desktops and despots.
Do you believe that enlightened desktops are rather better than supposedly enlightened despots? Do you have an opinion on the celebration of flowers and the separation of powers? Are you familiar with my dear friend's fragrantly philosophical work?
It is always important to allow good ideas to bloom by preventing flagrantly overpowering relationships from taking root. Colourful characteristics are beautiful when they do not clash too harshly with a democratically pleasant overall scheme of things. The balance of flowers and the balance of powers are ecologically and economically worth celebrating.
Supervision of the planning and implementation of a garden, a conservation area, an enlightening conversation, and a fair and prosperous system of governance, should always ensure the opinions of Baron de Montesquieu are taken into consideration. Here are some of my own earlier opinions mentioning the gentleman:
Proper democratic processes
South Australian local government elections 2010
Political diaphaneity
Non-evanescent employment
Ahoy there dear matey
Mere mortals
Many wildflowers are now in bloom throughout South Australia. My Adelaidean garden has been at its most vibrantly cheering and delightful for several weeks and today is the time when the most beautiful aspects of nature are most worthy of celebration.
Baron de Montesquieu believes that blossoming trees, fragrant vines and an assortment of spring flowers can provide a lustrous environment for the industrious and illustrious examination of society and the state, the state of society, and the fate of the state in the absence of useful debate. He is not sure if he has an enlightened approach to influence, inflorescence, flower power, floriculture, floristry, ikebana, garlands, or even to the appropriateness of a creative style of boutonnière, though he likes to celebrate, as I do, the beauty of flowers, in both fragrance and form.
I do hope that you, dear reader, agree with us that the laws of nature and the laws of humanity should always be in tune with each other. We all need the freedom to flourish if we are to be truly happy. The climate, the soil, the flowers, and the society in which we live, must be in accordance with each other.
Flowers deserve to be treated with respect, just like people do. Are you celebrating?
