The South Australian Hotel

If you are planning to visit Adelaide, the best ethereal place to stay, dine or meet someone important is the South Australian Hotel at 147 North Terrace, unless...

...you happen to be a material personage at present.

A picture of the building, should you wish to visit

Something about the menus on offer

Something about the nearby transportation network

A room you may wish to book

A delightful spot for afternoon tea

Where I like to sit for a snooze

Many ethereal persons arriving by ship find that the South Australian Hotel bears very little resemblance to those that were available prior to embarkation:

For this reason, I cannot understand why one of our most distinguished buildings was...

...demolished in 1971.  There are plenty of taverns and such like establishments in the vicinity nowadays, yet the South Australian Hotel now only exists in spirit, especially amongst the enlightened and discerning.  I had a very pleasant luncheon there myself today.

Mary Colton

Katie Spence

Caroline Clark

You may wish to know more about the hotel:

An introduction

The person in charge - Mrs Louisa O'Brien

The head waiter - Mr Lewy Cotton

Well, my delightful luncheon gathering allowed me the opportunity to converse with some very informed personages about the 21st century Enlightenment.  Perhaps you have some opinions on the subject yourself, dear reader.  Miss Spence would be especially pleased to know your point of view.
