...that they own the estate and are at the head of the household. It just won't do. My political servants are particularly troublesome. Some even have mutinous tendencies. Do they not realise that we employers prefer them to remain part of the furniture?
Whenever my political servants talk about cabinets, I tend to think of furniture. Unfortunately, the type of furniture that springs to mind on such occasions is the chipboard and flat pack variety, rather than Chippendale or Hepplewhite.
Political servants must especially learn to recognise that they do not rule the roost. If we give them the funds to run the estate and manage the household, they should remember that our policies and beliefs matter, not their own.
Even in joint-stock companies and the professions, the distinction between employer and employee needs to be made absolutely clear. Customers, clients and patients are the primary employers in all such cases, followed secondly by the stockholders.
If you are an employer yourself,
I would be most grateful to receive
your advice on this matter
My dear friend Mr Mozart was a servant so I am well acquainted with the difficulties of that position. Whenever he had the funds to employ others, he did so however. Unfortunately, he needed the assistance of better advisers. Perhaps he would have benefited from some educational enlightenment on this important subject.
If you are either a servant or an employer, or both, you at least have the opportunity to apply for further instruction through the International Training Centre for the Harmonious Interplay of Beauty, Understanding and Magnificence.
