Greetings again from Adelaide, or should I say anarchic Adelaide?
However temporarily we South Australians may be without a state government, I am wondering if...
...any of us will actually win the election. After all, it is the public - the people such as you and me - who are always supposed to be the winners in a democracy (well, that's the theory), whoever is elected to formulate our laws and supervise their implementation.
To help out those who will eventually form some sort of government for the next four years here, I suppose I should try my best to assist them in forming better policies than the ones that more than 50% of the electorate has rejected at the ballot box. A few of my suggestions have already been introduced in this blog over the past year.
Most of the ballots in the Funnel (see previous posts) have already been decided so at least I already know who should receive my emails when I send off my ideas and suggestions to our state parliamentarians for perusal.
As a priority, dear elected members, please do something to minimise and overcome the occupational burnout (and apathy) amongst those who work for public services (including casual workers employed through agencies). You may like to start by addressing the concerns of members of the public (and public servants) regarding this, rather than fobbing people off.
Remember that in GOOD government, there is no such thing as a "too-hard basket".
